Future Leaders: Leveraging Corporate Citizenship to Attract and Retain New Talent is All for Good
AIChE’s recently launched All for Good: Engineering for Inclusion initiative participated in the American Chemistry Council’s (ACC) Future Leaders: Leveraging Corporate Citizenship to Attract and Retain New Talent (Future Leaders). This session was held on April 17th, in conjunction with ACC’s 2019 Responsible Care & Sustainability Conference & Expo, in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
All for Good: Engineering for Inclusion is a core transformative priority of AIChE’s Doing a World of Good campaign.
Co-facilitated by Mark Hause, EHS Systems & Risk Senior Manager at DuPont and S. Shariq Yosufzai, Chair, AIChE Foundation Board of Trustees, Future Leaders brought together industry executives and a select group of emerging leaders for a highly engaging conversation about advancing inclusivity in the engineering workforce. The session included a panel discussion, before being opened up to the audience for Q&A.
According to Shariq, “I was delighted to see this topic spark such a robust dialogue. It is clearly a subject that industry executives and future leaders care deeply about.”
In a growing trend, this future generation is beginning their careers with organizations that are seen as leaders in corporate citizenship, especially in the social and environmental areas. As the chemical industry has embraced sustainability, companies can leverage their social, environmental, and economic contributions to attract and retain this talented generation.
This session was the first of three where AIChE and ACC will come together in an industry-wide effort to increase inclusion at all stages of the career continuum.
