Kelly Barb: Making an Impact in Humanitarian Development
Kelly Barb is an AIChE member whose volunteer work has had a far-reaching impact in the U.S. and globally.
In addition to her work on AIChE's Chemical Engineers for Good Challenge (ACE4G), Kelly has volunteered for Engineers Without Borders, the Peace Corps, Habitat for Humanity, Rowan University mentoring programs, and New Jersey Aid for Animals among others.
This month, Kelly is receiving the Recognizing Excellence in Volunteerism Award by her employer, PSE&G, where she is a full-time staff engineer.
John Cirucci, an AIChE Foundation Trustee and a member of AIChE’s Global Societal Initiative Committee which he co-chairs with Kelly, had a chance to chat with her about how she got started in international humanitarian development.
