Jack Futcher
John “Jack” Futcher is president and chief operating officer of Bechtel Group, Inc. He is responsible for the management, and oversight of Bechtel’s global operations, is chairman of the operating committee, and a member of the company’s board of directors. He is based at Bechtel's corporate office in Reston, Virginia.
During his 36-year Bechtel career, Jack served in numerous operational, management, and leadership roles, most recently president of the Oil, Gas & Chemicals business. Prior to that role, he served for three years as president of Bechtel’s Power business, which included executive sponsorship of Bechtel's Frederick, Maryland, campus, as well as offices in New Delhi and Cairo. He was elected a senior vice president in 1999 and named to the Bechtel board of directors in 2010.
Earlier, Jack was responsible for the Oil, Gas & Chemicals downstream business line. In 2003, he became the project director for a multibillion-dollar liquefied natural gas projects in Egypt. Jack later served as operations manager for Oil Gas & Chemicals in Bechtel’s London office. He also led Bechtel’s global Procurement & Contracts organization for six years, during which time the company managed the acquisition of more than $30 billion in equipment and materials.
Jack holds a bachelor‘s degree in finance from Lehigh University in Pennsylvania. He served on the board of directors of the Nuclear Energy Institute, and was chairman of the board of directors for the United States Energy Association from 2008 through 2013.
