Susan Ellerbusch
Susan Ellerbusch is CEO of Air Liquide USA LLC, a role she assumed in June 2017. Present in 80 countries with approximately 65,000 employees and more than 3 million customers and patients, Air Liquide is the world leader in gases, technologies and services for industry and health.
As head of Air Liquide’s operations in the U.S., Ellerbusch leads the company’s Large Industries and Electronics businesses. In addition to her day-to-day leadership activities, she is the executive sponsor of Air Liquide’s Women’s Network and the company's community engagements with Junior Achievement and the Barbara Bush Houston Literacy Foundation.
Ellerbusch joined Air Liquide in September 2015 as president of Air Liquide Large Industries U.S. LP. In this role, she led the restructuring of the business to enable a greater focus on operational excellence and customer engagement.
Prior to joining Air Liquide, Ellerbusch worked at BP where she held roles of increasing leadership and responsibility both domestically and internationally. Her experiences span chemicals, refining and marketing and biofuels. Her roles included director of Strategy and Business Development within Chemicals, VP of retail marketing both in the US and Europe, and president of Biofuels North America. She also served as executive sponsor of BP’s 2,500-member North American Women’s Network.
She was recognized as a Woman Who Means Business by the “Houston Business Journal” in 2017 and has been recognized by “ Biofuels Digest” as one of the top people in bioenergy. She is a board member for Summit Materials, the National Association of Manufacturers and the Society of Chemical Industry.
Ellerbusch holds a Bachelor of Science degree in genetics and an MBA from the University of Illinois. She lives in the Houston area with her husband Tim and their daughter Lauren.
