International Travel Grant
The purpose of this award is to facilitate the participation and leadership development of international student chapter leaders at the Annual Student Conference. Thus, strengthening the Institute's networks with these future global leaders.
"The experience at the conference gave me fresh perspective of how diverse the chemical engineering is."
This grant opportunity results to life-changing experiences and builds strong bonds across the AIChE staff team, 1,600 fellow student leaders, and Professional Volunteer leadership.
In fact at this year's Annual Student Conference, the AIChE Membership team and Interntional Student Leaders created a WhatsApp group chat, as an avenue to share photos and on-going communications.
This was a great way to bring 8 young students from 8 unique backgrounds together for the shared common goal of having a successful future in chemical engineering.
A Personal Experience
Here's a personal experience from Omeir Riaz, United Arab Emirates University, UAE:
“The AIChE annual conference was a turning point in my life. It has sort of re-invented my passion for chemical engineering. I now feel that I am part of bigger family, where each member of this family is somehow working to make the world a better place to live. I am really honored to meet people like John O’Connell, Allan MacDonald to name a few. The experience at the conference gave me fresh perspective of how diverse the chemical engineering is."
