AIChE’s Minority Affairs Committee (MAC) - Student Poster Session and Webinar Series
MAC hosted a poster session to kick off the Eminent Engineers Awards Ceremony at the 2019 Annual Meeting in Orlando, Florida. Thirteen graduate and undergraduate students were awarded travel grants, funded by AIChE Foundation donors, to attend the conference and present their posters. The students participated in several MAC leadership sessions at the conference. Jude Phillip (CCNY), Lesi Adeyinka (CCNY), and Cesar Moreno (Intertek) won 1st, 2nd and 3rd place prizes. Students were presented with a certificate of recognition by MAC’s 2019 Chair, Sipho Ndlela.
Throughout the year, the students attended webinars on topics like Mentorship, Post-Graduate Financial Planning, and Academia at a Glance, to enhance personal and professional development. This was an excellent opportunity for the students to benefit from continued engagement with the MAC community and expanded their ability to network and mentor while virtual.
This program is made possible by the AIChE Foundation's Doing a World of Good campaign.
