Partnering for Progress: The AIChE Foundation Grants Committee in Action
The AIChE Foundation’s Doing a World of Good Grants Committee plays a vital role in carrying out the Foundation’s five transformative priorities by funding AIChE member-led projects that align with AIChE’s strategic pillars. A key aspect of the Grants Committee’s work is ensuring generous donations become meaningful impact for the chemical engineering community.
As a committee, we’re thinking about how to make the process more efficient, and also how to encourage more applicants to bring their ideas forward,” Kevin Fogash.
With nearly two decades of projects funded, and nearly $2MM awarded, the committee is turning an eye to continuous improvement.
At this year’s Spring Meeting, we had the chance to connect with AIChE Foundation Trustee and Doing a World of Good Grants Committee member, Kevin Fogash, who has been instrumental in helping shape the next phase of the grants process. He also volunteered to pilot the review of a new grant proposal form, which launched with the opening of the latest grants application cycle.
“As a committee, we’re thinking about how to make the process more efficient, and also how to encourage more applicants to bring their ideas forward,” said Fogash. “I also really value the opportunity to work closely with project leads as a liaison—to help them get off to a strong start and feel supported along the way.”
With the May 1st deadline approaching, the committee looks forward to reviewing a new wave of proposals that advance AIChE and its Foundation. Together, we are doing a world of good.
