Shariq Yosufzai: Doing a World of Good
The third episode of the Foundation’s Doing a World of Good podcast series features Shariq Yosufzai, Chevron’s Vice President for Global Diversity, Ombuds, and University Relations. As a visionary leader and top executive at Chevron for over 40 years, Shariq has helped shape many of the company’s pioneering initiatives into education, diversity, economic development, and infrastructure improvement.
In the podcast, Shariq shares with us his personal commitment to inclusion and diversity in the engineering profession, key role models he’s had along the way, and Chevron’s steadfast belief that diversity is not only the right thing to do, it’s a business imperative.
He is responsible for Chevron’s diversity, inclusion (D&I), and Ombuds functions, and oversees the company’s strategic partnerships with universities and professional societies. In 2015, Chevron received the prestigious 2015 Catalyst Award for innovative organizational approaches in the advancement of women. The company has also received top awards from the Human Rights Campaign (HRC), Business Insider, and Glassdoor for being a top employer.
